- I got ver 3.97 and installed it. I still can't seem to get it working
- tho. I type "128.100.13.63 9000" in the address box, made sure it's on telnet,
- and clicked on OK. QVT returns the message "comm_open: unable to obtain IP
- address for '128.100.13.63 9000'". How do you specify the port?
-
- Thanks,

- Prehaps the best shareware NNTP newsreader for Windows is Trumpet Newsreader.
- You can anonymous FTP it from: ftp.utas.edu.au:/pc/trumpet/wintrump.

- How do you know that Winsock doesn't support DOS programs? The spec
- clearly talks about a DOS interface to TCP/IP. It's just not completed
- yet.

- Subject: Trumpet newsreader problem
-
- I am having a problem with my Trumpet newsreader for Windows. For some reason,
- it absolutely refuses to recognise my IP address. I've done everything I can
- (Including stumping one of our local experts). Since it won't recognise my IP
- address, it can't find our name server, and therefore, no news server. Is
- there a solution to this?
-
- BTW: I'm using the newest version. Thanks for any and all help!!

- I got Trumpet for Windows 1.0 REV A from CICA and it is much faster

- because I'm using an eval copy, or is there something else going on???
